Is that fur coat dead? | Style
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Grandma's mink stole. The chubby chinchilla vest you bought after watching too many hip-hip videos. We've all got a few fashion skeletons in the closet.
Now, you can get unwanted fur off your hands and help out ailing animals in the process.
Buffalo Exchange, 4530 University Way NE and 2232 NW Market Street, is taking donations of real fur coats, accessories, and shearling items. They will end up as bedding for orphaned and injured wildlife through the Humane Society's Coats for Cubs program.
Since the items are only being used for warmth, not fashion, the condition of the item isn't important. Buffalo Exchange has collected 3,885 used furs on behalf of Coats for Cubs since 2006.
If you want to get a tax deduction for your donated fur, you can mail your fur directly to The Humane Society of the United States, Attn: Coats for Cubs, 2100 L St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20037. For questions about Coats for Cubs, email furfree@humanesociety.org.
